Hall of Fame Winning Commercial I Project: Cafe Iris et Soie

Concept

Nestled in the heart of the La Croix-Rousse District, Café Iris et Soie allures designers, fashionistas, and shoppers from all over the world. Café Iris et Soie - The Iris and Silk Cafe - hones in on the flower of France - the iris - and the renowned textile of Lyon - silk. The cafe’s concept displays lines in the interior design that follow the form of draping silk and the flowing petals of the iris, as the color palette captures the blue and purple hues of the Iris while paying homage to the meaning of purple in France - royalty and luxury, all while respecting the region’s avoidance of flashy hues - hence the use of soft muted tones of the iris and the ever softness of silk. The attention to detail in the design balances the simplicity of the French cuisine menu intended as a “pick me up” in the middle of a busy shopping day.
